This project involves repurposing a historic warehouse into a new dry house to increase the Buffalo Trace Distillery’s capacity for processing spent mash. The new dry house will help the distillery meet the growing demand for its products while also preserving a significant piece of its history.
Key features and specifications:
Capacity: Can produce 12,000 pounds of dried grain per hour
Building: Repurposed Warehouse B, built in 1884
Key Features: Removal of original ricks and replacement with steel framework consisting of (4) new processing floors
Key Equipment: Rotary Dryers, Centrifuges & 50’ tall Evaporators
Purpose: Drying spent mash for sale to farmers
Preservation: Maintains the historic integrity of the warehouse
Production: Will operate in conjunction with the existing dry house
Sustainability: Ensures that no byproduct goes to waste
